A Spook-tacular Day!

Just look at these adorable costumes!  In our class today we had Junie B. Jones, Mary and baby Jesus, Opal from Because of Winn-Dixie, Captain Underpants, Little Red Riding Hood, and many more!
Jade's Aunt Teena was our "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, shake, shake, shake" Mystery Reader!  She was so funny!

The little kids LOVED trick-or-treating in our room!  We were around the room at our decorated stations  waiting for them.  We even had Halloween music playing!

Costume Day and Parade!

Next Friday, October 29th is Costume Day!  Remember, you can wear any costume you want as long as it meets a few rules. You may either dress as a Bible character or a storybook character.  If you choose to dress as a storybook character, be sure it is a TRUE storybook character.  That means, if they started out in a movie and later they made a book about the character, that is actually a movie character, not a storybook character.

Also remember that you'll need to bring about 60 treats to hand out to the little kids.  You can bring pencils, erasers, candy, whatever!  Bring some sort of bowl or bucket to put the treats in while you are passing them out.

Finally, you'll want to decorate your area of our classroom.  Make a Halloween poster, find a plastic pumpkin at home, anything you want to make your spot festive!  Remember you'll only have 5-10 minutes to decorate, so bring something easy!

Division with Remainders...

Da, da, da.... It's coming, but we're not afraid!  We had a fun math lesson outside today that was an introduction to division with remainders.  After some hands-on practice, we're ready to tackle it head-on Monday!

A Visit From Mrs. Peabody

We had a special visitor come see 3rd and 4th grades this Friday!  Mrs. Peabody taught us sign language for The Little Red Hen and read us the hilarious story of Epossomondus.

Fudge-A-Mania

I've been working so hard to figure out a way to convert Fudge-A-Mania into a format that we can watch on our school computers, but I've had no luck.  Here is the link to the movie.  Maybe you can watch it at home this weekend!  You'll love it!

I Know That and Vocabulary Maps

There were a few problems logging into the iknowthat.com link above, but I think I've corrected them.  If you want to log in, use the user name: acs1, password: acs1.  If someone from our class is already on iknowthat, you might have to use user: acs2, password: acs2.  You can also use acs3, acs4, or acs 5.

Also, Tristan's mom had a wonderful idea!  She added a copy of our vocabulary maps to our class website (the main 4th grade page at annunciationcatholicschool.com).  That way, if you get home and realize you are out of maps, you can print more!

If you think of anything else we should add to the website, let me know! I'd love to hear your suggestions!

A Few Things...

Look at these pictures from our Landform Maps!  Weren't they so cool?

Have you returned you P.O.C. letter yet?  If not, please bring it to school Tuesday morning.  Mrs. Allgood needs it!

I hope you will use your day off to work on your multiplication facts a little bit!  Play some fun online games, review your flashcards, or write your facts for extra credit.

Did you know your teacher is a total nerd?

Yep, it's true!  Your 4th grade teacher is a total nerd!  Why?  Because it is Saturday and I've spent the whole day working on school work! I've been busy planning some REALLY fun projects for us coming up in the next few weeks!

Want to know what we're going to do?  Well, you'll have to wait and see!  But, I'll give you some hints... one activity is going to require you to pull back out your fabulous acting skills to make another movie.  Another activity is going to require my iPod, and another big activity is going to require you to turn into a photographer! Think you know what we're going to do?  Comment on this post and make your best guess!

We've got a lot of fun coming up in the next few weeks, and I'm SO excited!
